Tetrivis Solar-Frame® wins Third Place in IEEE Smart Lighting “Let’s Make Light” Contest

Tetrivis LTD is proud to announce that the Tetrivis Solar-Frame® achieved third place in this IEEE Contest. The contest was judged by a qualified selection committee created by the IEEE Smart Lighting Project. This committee assessed and evaluated submissions based on many different criteria; with the overarching challenge being to find affordable, accessible and ecologically sustainable solutions for the provision of light to poorer and less fortunate areas in less industrialised countries. Within this challenge, solutions also were required to be a natural fit towards the circular economy, looking at ways to reuse and recycle parts and reduce waste and carbon emissions as much as possible.

The Tetrivis Solar-Frame® was able to meet and excel in all of the judging criteria (customer interaction, sustainability, accessibility and affordability, light quality, usability, functionality, energy efficiency, manufacturing attributes and innovation). Extensive Testing of the Solar-Frame has been conducted across three continents representing the demographic of our target market; the feedback received across these tests were taken into account and goes back into the thought behind improvements to the Tetrivis Solar-Frame® final product.  The assembly and manufacturing process of the Solar-Frame is sustainable and geographically flexible, which potentially could lead to great economic benefits for the local and national economies of wherever the production process can be placed. Many of the components are also replaceable or repairable, with the old components able to be recycled or repurpose leading to reduced waste, less emissions and lower costs thus providing an affordable source of light to a wide range of consumers.
